During your learning session, you answer questions at three levels: easy, medium, hard - until you have mastered them all and are perfectly prepared for the exam.
Q&A – Key features at a glance
Syntea is available for all script-based courses. You can access Syntea via the Syntea widget in the IU Learn app and on myCampus, and ask any questions concerning the contents of the script. You will receive an immediate answer and will also be referred to the section of the script which the answer is based on. In addition, you can test your level of knowledge by having Syntea ask you questions about the script. It tracks your progress and shows you exactly which parts of your answer are wrong or right. In in-depth learning sessions, Syntea systematically takes you through the material, allowing you to critically reflect on and better understand the content.
By using AI and natural language models supported by ChatGPT, Syntea leverages features such as video and audio to personalise your study experience. From this, it derives specific suggestions that you can use during a course or for exam preparation. This helps you plan better and optimise your study process.
The Q&A feature lets you ask questions about the script around the clock. Syntea gives you an answer within seconds. It also points out the relevant sections in the script. All answers are reviewed by our faculty members. They are then marked with a checkmark.
You can use the Pre-Assessment feature in two ways:
1. Test your knowledge before you start a course. After completing the test, you will receive an overview of your current knowledge level. This helps you figure out which units you should focus on.
2. Test your knowledge during the course. This will show you where you still need to improve.
The Deep Dialogue Learning Feature gives you the chance to study using the Socratic teaching method. This means that Syntea leads you through the material with open questions and encourages you to critically review your knowledge.
Based on your answers, Syntea helps you break down complex content bit by bit. If necessary, Syntea clarifies certain points so that you can discover and correct misconceptions independently. This way, you train both your understanding of the material and your communicative skills.
With the Exam Trainer Feature, you systematically prepare for exam questions. You choose which unit you want to practice and Syntea will ask you questions on the levels of easy, medium, and hard.
Once you have answered three questions in a row correctly, you progress to the next level. If you answer a question incorrectly, Syntea will explain to you why.

It tests your knowledge by asking you questions and giving you a detailed summary of your correct and incorrect answers.
