You can study the Business and IT bachelor’s degree through the distance learning programme completely on your own terms and with 100% flexibility. Thanks to the virtual learning format with interactive online courses, your IU studies can be completed entirely independent of time and place.
You can pursue the Business and IT bachelor’s degree in the dual study programme at the following study locations: Düsseldorf or at the Virtual Campus, which makes your dual study programme possible anywhere in Germany.
Yes, we are happy to make that possible for you at the IU. In addition to the entrance qualification in the form of an Abitur or Fachabitur, interested students with alternative qualifications have the opportunity to enter our Bachelor's programme. You can study business informatics without an Abitur if you have completed an advanced training course, are a state-certified technician/business economist, have a master craftsman's certificate or have at least two years of vocational training and at least three years of subsequent work experience.
The bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics through the distance learning programme lasts 36, 48, or 72 months, depending on which time model you choose.
The dual study programme usually takes 7 semesters. If you need more time and semesters for your studies, that’s absolutely no problem.
The better question would be: are Business and IT suitable for you? Business and IT studies combine content from Computer Science and Business Administration. If these are topics that interest you, Business Informatics could be right for you. Your wishes for the future also play a role. Do you want to work on computers for companies or organisations?
